Page 1 "Sky Jack" A Commissioned piece to help raise money to build a new natural habitat for the Golden Eagles at the Montgomery Zoo. This is my original sketch as I composed my design. It was most important for this to be a strong design and show off the eagles beauty and power. "Alabama Migratory Waterfowl Stamp Competition" This is a portion of my original sketch as I worked out my design. I worked from a mounted duck set up and lighted in my studio. From the start I discovered I had to look at the mount from exactly the same angle each time, because with the slightest movement the colors changed.
"American Fisheries Society" Acrylic on Canvas 22 X 28 This piece was commissioned by the American Fisheries Society. I was astonished by the amount of research going on and how they touched the lives of millions worldwide. (Prints available) "Our Dinghy, Roach"
Roach seemed an appropriate name for our dinghy since we call our 30 foot cruiser "Tide Stick." We got the name from a Cheech and Chong movie.
This is a quick study done in watercolor on watercolor board.
"Coosa Egret" Watercolor 10.5 X 13.5
Check out our Photo "Coosa Charm" in the photo section. "Danny's Dream" Acrylic on Illustration Board 18 X 24 This is one of my favorite paintings and it came to life after a conversation I had with a long time friend. He told me about this strange dream he had and the more I listened the more the imagery stuck in my head. Even after I actually painted my interpretation of his vision, I still get a haunting feeling form the story. Original Art.......$2,700.00 "Keeper of the Colors" ![]() Deb and I were visiting the Five Points area of Birmingham and noticed this fellow sitting near the fountain. He was oblivious to everyone around him, totally involved in his work. I got an idea for a painting and made this sketch to use later. |
