Paintings by Steve Garst
- I’m not going to try and explain my approach to
painting because it doesn’t mean
anything to anyone but
me. Let me just say, I’ve been an illustrator most of my
life and I’ve always
taken on assignments that challenged me creatively and
artistically. In my opinion, it’s the only way to improve your
skills. To me, anyone that ever picks up a brush and applies paint to a
canvas, whether you do it for your own amusement or you’re trying to
impress the world, you have my deepest respect. No one tells you it must
be done but you do it because you want to. That is art! And remember, no
one should ever attempt to dictate your subject or your pallet, that’s
personal, and only serves to remove any doubt about their lack of credentials. |

Happy 4th of July...we started with a bang! at 1:30 this morning
our dogs went crazy looking out our front windows. I went out to see
what was causing this fuss and found a 4'2" timber rattler coiled up
next to our bird bath. Not to worry, I calmly placed a couple of
hollow-points through his wishbone...
Watch your step!!!

Paintings by Deb Garst
- Using a combination of learned and created techniques, my one
of a kind creations emerge from somewhere deep in my soul. I have always
enjoyed stretching the envelope when it comes to painting and
photography. Breaking all the rules is one of my mottos. My paintings
seems to flow…literally … as my husband who has his drawing table facing
mine can testify. He actually raised his table and tilted it to avoid my
splattering and spilling. Keeping an open mind and relaxing, not trying
to be constantly in total control, but allowing the painting to move to
a place where it needs to be, is very important. |

Photography by Deb and Steve
- Steve’s background in Wildlife Photography and Deb’s in
Photojournalism and Portraiture merge to reveal images that tell a
kaleidoscopic story. Each photo is a team effort, whether during the set
up, click of the shutter or final print. We draw inspiration from each
other and work as one. |
